Hello m'lady,

I've been thinking about you every day, but I haven't been able to write. I'm that way. I think and think and think. And then, I write. Maybe. But not you. You have never been afraid to make your mark. You're not afraid to go for it. I've always admired that about you. And also the way you can do a million things at once. And do them all well. You're one of those curious creatures who seems to have discovered a stash of extra hours in each day. You can get up early to ski and then come home to write and work multiple jobs and throw together a fabulous feast and knit a sweater and make a quilt and grow your veggies and build a house. And, you still have time to do things like swing and dance and paint your toenails and read books and do yoga. And you can hang. And you must sleep, because you always look well-rested and ready for whatever. Always.

You are a force.

I love that we Ladies [I also love capping that L] all share that first image of you, breathless and beautiful at orientation -- the editor from New York. The one who just drove across the country, parked her car and breezed into the room. The one who is likely to be the badass.

No two ways about it -- you're facing a scary beast. But, you will defeat it. I have no doubt. None. You will defeat it because even though you might feel a little shaky right now, in the big picture (and that's what's important here) you know who you are, and you are not afraid. Beating this bitch is one more thing you will do well -- one more thing you will do that will leave the rest of us in awe. You will defeat it because you are that way.

You are the badass.

Just say the word if you'd like visitors or need a special delivery from anywhere in Portland or need someone to drive a getaway car.

xoxoxo
