Jess,
It's turned cold here in the prairie, a relentless wind slicing across the fields. Hard for a mountain girl like me to get warm. The unexpected shift from fall to deep winter puts me in mind of you, suddenly facing an unfamiliar landscape. Landmarks gone missing.
Have faith, Jess. If there is one thing being so far from home has taught me, it's that the things that matter are always with you. The ground, no matter how unfamiliar, is solid under your feet. The love that has surrounded you every day of your life is remains unchanged, holding on to you as fiercely as ever. And no matter how damn cold and bleak it gets, the spring comes.
Spring will come, Jess. Green and gold in all its Oregon glory. And until it does, we're all right beside you, wrapping you in love and light and visions of perfect health.
Blessings on you, my friend.
